Maddie Stanaland is originally from Fairfax, Virginia, but found her roots in Fairhope, Alabama, where she has spent the majority of her life. Her relationship with art started early, with some of her first memories centered around drawing and creating.
Maddie continued taking art classes throughout childhood and began AP art classes as early as middle school. She has also worked as a commissioned professional artist since the age of 12, building a strong foundation in drawing, composition, contrast, and visual storytelling long before she began tattooing.
Professionally tattooing since 2018, Maddie started in beach shops in lower Alabama before finding her permanent home at The Bell Rose Tattoo in the fall of 2021. Her work is known for its intensity, detail, speed, and strong black and grey presence.
